Responsibilities:

Will be responsible for performing HR-related duties for multiple manufacturing sites.

• Will recruit, interview, hire and train new staff and oversee workflow of the HR Department.
• Perform performance evaluations as well as handling discipline, termination of employees and exit interviews
• Provides guidance on pay ranges appropriate to roles and responsibilities.
• Will be liaison with temporary staffing services for warehouse and production roles.
• Timekeeping and Payroll
• Manage and resolves employee relation issues.
• Will provide direction to managers and employees regarding performance, employee relations, compliance, training & development, etc.
• Must understand FMLA, STD, and LTD procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve, enhance, or change existing HR and/or employee policies, procedures, or processes.
• Provide support and guidance to HR Generalists, management, and other staff regarding complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

• 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Qualifications

• BA in Business/Human Resources.  Master’s Degree in Human Resources is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of HR Managerial experience with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• SHRM or SPHR preferred
• Must be willing to travel to the West Coast 2 to 4 times a year as well as other Chicagoland locations.
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in MS office Suite and HR database/timekeeping system
• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
